Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal: “Phil Robertson and his family are great citizens of the State of Louisiana. The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with…I don’t agree with quite a bit of stuff I read in magazine interviews or see on TV. In fact, come to think of it, I find a good bit of it offensive,” Jindal said. “But I also acknowledge that this is a free country and everyone is entitled to express their views. In fact, I remember when TV networks believed in the First Amendment. It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended.”

Phil Robertson Suspended
I don’t usually like to get too political on here because every one has their differing beliefs and opinions, as they’re entitled to…but I do find it a bit disheartening that we claim people are allowed to have their own opinions but then reprimand these people for expressing them. Differences are what makes our world go ’round.
“While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right…. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.”
I, myself, am a huge Duck Dynasty fan. And I think Phil’s suspension was a mistake by A&E. Whether or not you agree with Phil’s belief is one thing, but free speech is another. Free speech is our constitutional right.
Then again, the media has been restricting free speech for decades, this is just one incident that is calling our attention to it. Reality TV, not so real after all.

Paul Walker Memorial
Tyrese Gibson wrote in a Facebook message regarding Paul Walker, “I will keep your energy with me forever.” I think this is a beautiful testament to their friendship and sums up the aftermath of a loss. When you lose someone who you thought you would always have, the great fear is that they are now gone forever. You desperately want to keep their memory alive, to hold some part of them with you for the rest of your years. Truth is, the death of a loved one doesn’t mean that they’re completely gone. They live on in the hearts of those who love them. Just as Tyrese said. The loss of a loved one runs through you like a thread. Their very being becomes stitched with your own. It is perhaps the closest you can get to a person in this life. Ah yes, grief does not change you, it reveals you.
