Free Spirits
Since so many of you loved my original poem, “Free Spirits” from an earlier post, I decided to show you all in video the melody that I hear with the poem. For those of you that missed it, I’ve written the poem again here. Let me know what you think!
Here’s to the free spirits
Who fall in love
Keep their minds wide open
and their heads up.
And though they’re crushed and broken
They’re still fearless and tough
Here’s to the free spirits,
yea, here’s to us!
Distinguishing Between Spirit and Will
When faced with a choice, for example to stay or to go, listen to yourself. You can usually distinguish a spiritually inspired idea from a will-driven or ego-driven idea by how quiet your head is whenever you think about it. The spirit’s voice is quiet yet strong.
There’s an App For That!
A parody song I wrote entitled, “There’s an App for That!”. Parody of Digital Planets’ song, “Rebirth of Slick (I’m Cool Like Dat)”. In today’s world, it seems just about anything you can think up, you can find an app for it! A musical commentary on the App World of today.
Lyrics:
Blink blink blink blink
Think think think think
You start your day in a bit of a haze
It’s 7am wondering, “Why am I awake?”
You lost your wallet, cant seem to find your dog
Last night was mad real but today’s a fog
What to eat for breakfast? Oh now you’re out of eggs
Gotta write a grocery list, cant keep it in your head
Boss emails “you’re fired” while ya headed to the store
Mental note: I aint going out on drinkin’ anymore
Now you’re looking for a job, ya life is a wreck
Trying find a man but aint nobody got time for dat!
Nodding at the wheel cause you’re falling asleep
Well guess what peeps?! It came out last week!
Yep
There’s an app for dat! (x7)
There is…
Check it out man you want a new nose?
Need some new clothes?
You can lock your home
While you’re on the road
Wanna get a date?
Tryna lose some weight?
Find the cheapest gas?
Grow your own mustache?
Do an ultrasound?
Check out the local pound?
Drink a little beer?
Spread a little cheer?
Go and call ya ma back
Then make a song like dat
Bet there’s an app for dat
We out…we out…
Conversations with God – Psalm 37:4
June 4, 2012
It is written, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4. Too often you stress yourself my love, my little one, my lamb. You are striving for perfection in an imperfect world. You will only find perfection in me. Rather than seeking it in your career, relationships, or even yourself, instead draw closer to me. In my presence, you will find it. Your desire for perfection will only be satisfied in me. Let this be your ultimate, constant, and unwavering desire to get closer and closer to me. To sit quietly in my presence, every morning, as soon as you open your eyes and before you begin your day. This way, I may satisfy your yearning for perfection. That in my presence, you might feel it, and go forth in your day no longer trying to achieve it, but rather being constantly aware of it; of me. I love you.
Playa Tamarindo at Sunset

Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I recently returned from a trip to Playa Tamarindo. It was my first time in Costa Rica. The beauty was breathtaking. This picture was shot on an iPhone 5. Can you believe it?
A Very Merry animated Christmas in :30 seconds {or less}
Sweet.
A Christmas Poem
Not Only Christmas Day
Lord, this is my prayer
Not only on Christmas Day
But until I see You face to face
May I live my life this way:
Just like the baby Jesus
I ever hope to be,
Resting in Your loving arms
Trusting in Your sovereignty.
And like the growing Christ child
In wisdom daily learning,
May I ever seek to know You
With my mind and spirit yearning.
Like the Son so faithful
Let me follow in Your light,
Meek and bold, humble and strong
Not afraid to face the night.
Nor cowardly to suffer
And stand for truth alone,
Knowing that Your kingdom
Awaits my going home.
Not afraid to sacrifice
Though great may be the cost,
Mindful how You rescued me
From broken-hearted loss.
Like my risen Savior
The babe, the child, the Son,
May my life forever speak
Of who You are and all You’ve done.
So while this world rejoices
And celebrates Your birth,
I treasure You, the greatest gift
Unequaled in Your worth.
I long to hear the same words
That welcomed home Your Son,
“Come, good and faithful servant,”
Your Master says, “Well done.”
And may heaven welcome others
Who will join with me in praise
Because I lived for Jesus Christ
Not only Christmas Day

Good Night
“May you fall asleep in the arms of a dream,
so beautiful,
you’ll wake up crying.”
