“Mother” as a Verb, Rather than a Noun

The word “mother” is more powerful when used as a verb, rather than a noun.

Not all women are mothers, but all women are called to mother. And to give birth.

Women give birth to all kinds of things – books, films, songs, ideas, movements…

We mother each other every time we offer our comfort, concern, and care. When we see a need and rise to meet it.

We mother each other by encouraging and nurturing others towards their true selves.

We partner with God in the very important mission of bringing forth life, by helping others become more of who they truly are.

Happy Mother’s day! Let’s celebrate mothering today, in all its many shapes and forms!
