Burke: A Simple Man (A Poem)

Sometimes I want to be you,
Normal and simple.
Sometimes I wonder, Why me?

I’d like to watch TV
Or see friends after work
I’d like to drink warm tea
And laugh till it hurts

I grow rather tired
Of being constantly inspired
And I’d like to live with you
Someday, Burke.

I Write, to Find Out What I Know

I write, to find out what I know
Life is but a circus, and you have just one show
Is there more than meets the eye?
Is your audience watching a lie?
I write, to find out what I know

I write, to find out who I am
The Universe’s an endless beach, and you one speck of sand
Have you lost yourself among the others?
Surrounded by your friends and lovers
I write, to find out who I am

I write, to share the love within
A shining light above the crowds that fill a sea of sin
They say you get back what you give
If you had one day left to live
I write, to share the love within

To Everyone Who Feels Called…

As I reach my adult years, it has been dawning on me just how uphill a performer’s path is. And I must confess, if I had the choice between being happy and being a performer, I’d choose to be happy.

But then I’m reminded (by the little voice inside of me), I don’t have that choice…

To the writers…

A story well told can put you in rooms never occupied.
