Walking Away

“If someone is not treating you with love and respect, it is a gift if they walk away from you. If that person doesn’t walk away, you will surely endure many years of suffering with him or her.

Walking away may hurt for a while, but your heart will eventually heal. Then you can choose what you really want.

You will find that you don’t need to trust others as much as you need to trust yourself to make the right choices.”

-Don Miguel Ruiz

It’s Personal!

“If you want to make a difference, the next time you see someone being cruel to another human being, take it personally. Take it personally because it is personal!” – Brene Brown

Faith

“Faith is a place of mystery, where we find the courage to believe in what we cannot see and the strength to let go of our fear of uncertainty.” – Brene Brown

If Our Inner Selves Could Talk, Here’s What They Would Say

I trust you.

I know you know how to get things done. How to engage yourself with the world and then retreat.

You can eat when you’re hungry and sleep when you’re tired. You know how to shower, clean up, and pay your bills on time.

You know how to say “no” and how to say “yes” and when to do both.

You can let the right people in and show the wrong people out.

You know how to ask for help. And company when you need it.

You know how to forgive yourself. Stand by yourself. Be close to the people you choose.

This is your adventure. Your life. You got this.

You’re in charge and I trust you.

How Much Do You Trust Me? -God

Tonight God asked me, “How much do you trust me?”

“A lot,” I said.

He laughed, as He often does, “OK. But do you trust me enough?”

He continued, “Enough to stop worrying about time and how much of it you have? Have you not seen how my timing is perfect? Enough to stop obsessing over your to do list? What if I have better things for you to do? When you pray to me ‘Jesus, take the wheel’, do you really mean it? Will you let me? Do you trust me enough to lay your head on the pillow at night without your mind racing? Will you accept my offering of peace? Will you find your rest in me?”

I sat, once again, dumbfounded in His presence.

“You say you trust me ‘alot’ but is it enough?”

Assignment for Today: Allow Yourself to be Startled by Life

Control, which is only an illusion, is over rated. Life has much better ideas for us than we could ever imagine for ourselves.

Trust Your Struggle.

Trust Your Journey.

Assignment for today: Allow yourself to be startled by life.

Never Trust Your Eyes

If the human mind

from its inception

is deceitful in all

of its recollections,

then the human eyes,

which form perception,

must constitute the

greatest deception.

Don’t Trust Your Eyes

If the “human mind is the most deceitful of all things” (Jeremiah 17:9), then perception is the great deception.

“When people show you who they are, believe them…the first time.” -Maya Angelou
